QHC HILLCLIMB Results 2nd & 3rd June 2012.
The 2012 Queensland Hillclimb Championships were run with changing weather conditions that Queensland’s have become more and more familiar with over the last few events.
With the unkind weather slightly improving on Sunday some fierce competition started to take place on the slippery track which also saw more cars than usual making unplanned visits into the welcoming nuts. Towards the end of the day the sky cleared, the sun shone and times started to fall. This resulted in Victorian Brett Hayward achieving a sub-40s run on his last run giving him the title for a second year in a row.
Fellow Victorian Greg Ackland was second with his time of 40.48. Alan McConnell was the fastest Queenslander and also the third fastest time of day with a best time of 41.74.
Major trophies went to: Tasman Building Society Perpetual Trophy for Fastest time of day: Brett Hayward (39.93s)

It was also great to see Ron Hay’s new Synergy-Dallara 2.4 Lt V8 Engine out for the first time at Mt Cotton, the car looks and goes fantastic good to see the hard work in the shed paying off.
The next hillclimb event is round 3 of the Tighe Cams Hillclimb at Mt Cotton on the 7th & 8th July.
