Results – Noosa Hillclimb Winter Challenge 9th & 10th June 2018

This Hillclimb was once again attracted over 140 cars all eager to have a crack at the 1.5 km Noosa Hillclimb.

A Big Thank you must also go to the organizing committee’s of the Noosa Beach Classic Car Club and the Historic Racing Car Club for a well organized event.

There were quite a few incidents over the 2 days with 2 cars having major damage on Saturday and another 3 cars having more damage on Sunday, but the best thing was that all drivers were not hurt and all cars can be fixed.

With 4 runs on Saturday and 3 on Sunday the entrants had 7 official runs over the weekend this was another extremely well organized event, congratulations must go to the organizing committee’s  and officials for a great event.

Michael von-Rapard in his newly supercharged Dallara won the event outright with a time of 51.05 sec. Well done Michael & Harold.

Another outstanding result was Ed McCane, this was his first ever attempt at the Noosa Hillclimb and he finished 2nd outright in his DJ Firehawk well done Ed & Gail fantastic result after the setup issues with the new car. Great result.

With 140 cars taking part in this event there was only 1 Rotary Hillclimb Racing Car competing in this Hillclimb, Warwick Hutchinson’s (RPV03 13B Turbo) Warwick had issues on his 3rd run on Saturday when the car broke into wheel spin and hit the bank on turn 4. This tore off the front wing & nose, but they don’t call this Hillclimb one of Australia’s toughest Hillclimb for nothing… He repaired the car and ran the rest of the weekend. His best time was 61.04 (3rd in Class & 11th Outright)
