Results – Noosa Hillclimb Winter Challenge 8th & 9th June 2019

This Hillclimb was once again attracted over 125 cars all eager to have a crack at the 1.5 km Noosa Hillclimb.

A Big Thank you must also go to the organizing committee’s of the Noosa Beach Classic Car Club and the Historic Racing Car Club for a well organized event.

With wet weather hampering the event there were quite a few incidents over the 2 days with a few cars having major damage, but the best thing was that all drivers were not hurt and all cars can be fixed.

With 3 runs on Saturday and 3 on Sunday the entrants had 6 official runs over the weekend this was another extremely well organized event, congratulations must go to the organizing committee’s  and officials for a great event.

Michael von-Rapard in his supercharged Dallara won the event outright with a time of 54.00 sec. Well done Michael & Harold.

It was a tough weekend for Michael as he had a slight off on the last run on Saturday after the finish line and broke the front wing and front nose on the car. However he fixed this on Saturday night and went faster on Sunday

There was only 2 Rotary Hillclimb Racing Car’s competing in this Hillclimb.

Paul Hibberd (RX8) & Warwick Hutchinson (RPV03).

Paul Hibberd was running his RX8 in Modern Sports cars over 2001cc Class.

Paul had fixed his cooling issue he had with the engine the weekend before at the QHC and was running well starting with a time of 1:14.05 on the first Run and his best time for the weekend was on the 1st run on Sunday with a time of 1:12.50 however he went across the finish line and hit a wet patch and the car ended up facing the wrong direction and down the side of the hill coming to rest on some small bushes. We hope you get the car back on the track soon Paul.

Warwick Hutchinson’s (RPV03 13B Turbo) was running in Racing Cars Class.

Warwick’s 1st run was 1:12.49 and finished on the last run with a time of 1:01.00.

The top 6 outright cars were –
