Results of Carric Accounting Hillclimb Series Mt Cotton – Round 2 (28th & 29th April 2018)
This was the second round for the Hillclimb season for 2018.
This was a 2 day event starting at 11.00 Am on Saturday and finishing on Sunday afternoon. The weather for Saturday was overcast and had light to medium rain over the afternoon, with only a few mishaps over the day. There were a large number of spectators all eager to watch the 87 competitors that had entered this event.
Sunday’s weather was a lot better than Saturday with sunny and 28 degrees, the battles on-track was fierce through all the class’s entered.
This Hillclimb had 2 rotary Hillclimb racing cars entered in 2 different classes.
David Jackson was running his RX7 in Regularity Class.
David’s RX7 first run on Saturday with a time of 56.71 sec down to a 55.84 sec on the last run of the day on Sunday.
Warwick Hutchinson in his New Open wheel race car (RPV03) entered Formula Libre – 1301cc & over.
His first run on Saturday was 52.70 sec, the rain had just started so the track was very wet, he went faster on Sunday with his best time in the top six shoot out with a time of 40.89 sec. Hopefully better times to come.

David Jackson (Mazda RX7) 55.84 sec – (29 points in Class & 58th Outright)
Warwick Hutchinson (RPV03 13B Turbo) 42.14 sec – (4th in Class & 6th Outright)

3rd Michael Von Rapard (Dallara Hayabusa) – 38.46

6th Neal Lewis (Fly 001) – 41.77

The Next Events we will be running our car in is the Queensland Hillclimb Championships at Mt Cotton on the 2nd & 3rd June and then the following weekend the Noosa Hillclimb “Winter Challenge” at Noosa on the 9th & 10th June.
