Results of Carric Accounting Hillclimb Series Mt Cotton – Round 5 (7th & 8th Sept. 2019)

This was the fifth round at Mt Cotton Hillclimb for the 2019 season.

This was a 2 day event starting at 11.00 am on Saturday and finishing on Sunday afternoon. The weather for Saturday & Sunday was a typical beautiful Queensland winter, with only a few mishaps over the day. There were a large number of spectators all eager to watch the 83 competitors that had entered this event.

This Hillclimb had only 2 rotary Hillclimb racing cars entered in 2 different classes.

Stephen Torphey & Warwick Hutchinson.

Stephen Torphey in his Mazda RX7 (12A Turbo) was running in Sports Cars (Closed) 2001cc & Over Class.

Stephen only ran on Sunday completing 5 runs. Stephen’s best time was on his 2nd on Sunday with a time of 48.81 sec.

Warwick Hutchinson in his Open wheel race car (RPV03 – 13B Turbo) entered Formula Libre – 1301cc & over.

His first run on Saturday was 39.05 sec, his fastest run was his 2nd run on Sunday with a time of 38.70sec.

Stephen Torphey in his Mazda RX7 (12A Turbo) 49.96 sec – (1st in Class & 30th Outright)

Warwick Hutchinson (RPV03 13B Turbo) 38.93sec – (2nd in Class & 2nd Outright)

1st Dean Amos (Gould GR55B) – 36.80

2nd Warwick Hutchinson (RPV03 13B Turbo) – 38.92

3rd Paul van Wijik (OMS Hornet) – 40.95

4th Brett Bull (Van Dieman RF03K) – 41.35

5th David Quelch (Honda DPQ Special)  – 41.36

6th Stan Pobjoyay (F/L VW Special) – 44.33
