TIGHE CAMS HILLCLIMB, ROUND 2, 17th & 18th April 2010.
The second round of the Tighe Cams series for 2010 was another 2 day event. The 124 entered competitors were able to get three runs on Saturday afternoon and another three on Sunday plus the top six shootout. Saturday was ideal for hill climbing and the majority of the cars stayed on the track. Sunday was a different matter with overnight and morning rain making the first run very wet, but when the track had dried, a number of competitors had “offs'” onto the grass or “ins” into the nuts resulting in a number of delays over the day.
One of the highlights on Sunday was Bill Norman being the first sports car driver to complete the course under the magic 40s. Bill’s sub-40 time was 39.75, more than a second faster than his previous best. Bill is now the 15th member of the prestigious ‘Under 40s Club’.
The Rotary Hillclimb Racing Cars also did well with a 2nd outright and 1st in class going to Warwick Hutchinson in his RPV02.
Darren Duffield in his RPV01 was the next Rotary Hillclimb Racing Car with the best timed run during the top 6 shootout of 41.07. Darren had changed the fuel in his car and he has dyno-tuned the engine to get more power. After this round of the Hillclimb series, Darren is currently leading the top six shootout. Keep up the good work Darren and go the rotary’s!!.
There were 5 Rotary Hillclimb Racing Cars entered in this round of the series, Darren Duffield (RPV01- 13B T), John & Chris Moore (Hijinx Buggy – 13B T), Cameron Hurman (RX7 – 13B T) and Warwick Hutchinson (RPV02 13B T).

Chris Moore (Hijinx Buggy 13B Turbo) 48.62 – (6rd in Class & 35th Outright)
Cameron Hurman (RX7 13B Turbo) 50.49 – (4th in Class & 51st Outright)
