Southern Cross Sheds Noosa Hillclimb 7th & 8th Nov 2015 – Results.
This Hillclimb was proudly sponsored by Southern Cross Sheds. Thanks must also go to the organizing committee of the Noosa Beach Classic Car Club and the HRCC for a well organized event.
The outright winner of this event was Michael Von Rappard in his beautifully prepared Dallara F392. Michael set his fastest time on the 2nd run on Saturday with a time of 53.12 this makes Michael one of the quickest cars to ever run up “The Hill” well done Michael see you next year.

With 4 runs on Saturday and 4 on Sunday the entrants had 8 official runs over the weekend With 152 cars taking part in this event there was 6 Rotary Hillclimb Racing Cars competing in this Hillclimb, Robert Bellinger (Mazda RX3), Lou Szekely (Mazda RX7), Ken Luxton (Mazda RX7), Chris Fung (Mazda RX3), Darren Duffield (RPV01 13B Turbo) and Warwick Hutchinson’s (RPV02 13B Turbo) their best times are listed below.
Robert Bellinger in his Mazda RX3 was running in Touring Group 3 Touring Cars Class (1965 – 74). Roberts RX3 sounded fantastic, Robert did well setting his fastest time on his last run on Sunday afternoon with a 64.82 sec. This put him 1st in his class and 32nd outright, well done this car looks great and sounds good too.
Chris Fung in his Mazda RX3 was also running in Touring Group 3 Touring Cars Class (1965 – 74). Chris’s RX3 had some issues over the week end but managed to put 4 official runs in over the weekend. Chris did well setting his fastest time on his last run on Sunday afternoon with a 73.97 sec. This put him 3rd in his class and 127th outright.
Lou Szekely in his Mazda Rx7, Lou was running his RX7 in Touring Group 4 Touring Cars Class (1965 – 84). Lou set his fastest time for the weekend on his 3rd run on Sunday with a time of 70.28 sec. This placed Lou 4th in his class and 95th outright.
Ken Luxton in his Mazda Rx7, Ken was also running his RX7 in Touring Group 4 Touring Cars Class (1965 – 84). Ken set his fastest time for the weekend on his last run on Sunday with a time of 66.32 sec. This placed Ken 3rd in his class and 47th outright.
Darren Duffield (RPV01-B 13B Turbo) was running in Formula Libre 2001cc – Over Class. Darren’s Rotary open wheeler did extremely well, it was fantastic to see Darren running back a Noosa the car is looking the goods and dam fast! Darren’s best time was on his last run on Sunday with a time of 57.31 sec, he finish 2nd in this Class and 3rd outright. Darren and his Crew did a great job and good to see the rotary up in the pointy end of the outright fastest cars over the 2 days of competition.

Warwick Hutchinson (RPV02 13B Turbo) also running in Formula Libre 2001cc – Over Class Formula Libre. Warwick did his fastest time on the 3rd run on Sunday, he finished 1st in class and 2nd outright with his best time 53.96 sec.
