Hillclimb Results Round 6 – Mt Cotton 2010.

TIGHE CAMS HILLCLIMB, ROUND 6.

4th & 5th December 2010.

The last round of the series was run under very wet conditions, with the weather dictating the terms the times were not going to be record braking. Round 6 of the Tighe Cams Series for 2010 had 110 entered competitors.

Very Wet Mt Cotton Hillclimb Track

With the weather playing havoc the drivers trying to get grip on the wet track, a lot of drivers only ran on the Saturday and almost half of the field did not run on the Sunday. This was a bit of an anti-climax to the competition as the results for the year could not be battled out to the very end.

Michael & Terry in the pits talking about what could have been.

None the less during the heavy down poor’s a lot of the drivers and pit crews sat around talking about what could have been, this was a very social way to end this year’s competition of hillclimbing.

John Moore On the very wet Mt Cotton track

There were only 2 Rotary Hillclimb Racing Cars entered in this round of the series, John & Chris Moore’s (Hi Jinx Buggy – 13B T) and Warwick Hutchinson (RPV02 – 13B T).

John Moore had entered his Hi-Jinx buggy with his son Chris, but Chris did not drive the car all week-end, he let John drive in the wet and greasy track. John finished 2nd in class and 10th outright and 6th in the Top Six Shoot-out.

Warwick Hutchinson in his RPV02 was off the pace, the wet conditions do not suite the turbo 13B as the power was hard to put down. Warwick turned the boost down to reduce the power to try to better his times. He finished 1st in class and 3rd outright.

The Rotary Hillclimb Racing Cars entered and their best times were –

Warwick Hutchinson (RPV02 13B Turbo) 42.79 – (1st in Class & 3rd Outright)

John Moore (Hijinx Buggy 13B Turbo) 47.29 – (2nd in Class & 10th Outright)

Top Six Shootout Results were –

1st Bill Norman – 44.84

2nd Michael Collins – 46.61

3rd Michael Ciccotelli – 48.24

4th David Homer – 48.36
