Hillclimb Results Round 2 – Mt Cotton 2011

TIGHE CAMS HILLCLIMB, ROUND 2, 2nd & 3rd April 2011

The second round of the Series was run under changing weather conditions, with a generally fine Saturday and a slight shower early on Sunday this made the changing track conditions a challenge for all of the 93 competitors that had entered this round.

The weather aside we had 8 runs over the 2 days, plus the top six shootout.

It was also good to see Cameron Hurman back running his Mazda RX7 after missing round 1.

Cameron ran all 8 runs. He started at 53.79sec for the first run on Saturday down to his best time for the weekend which was on the very last run on Sunday with a time of 50.26 sec.

Warwick's RPV02 in the pits

Warwick Hutchinson in his racing car (RPV02) was running constantly over the 2 days with his best time on the very last run on Sunday with a time of 40.91 sec.

There were only 2 Rotary Hillclimb Racing Cars competing in this round of the series, Cameron Hurman’s (Mazda RX7 – 13B Turbo) and Warwick Hutchinson’s (RPV02 13B Turbo) their best times are listed below.

The Rotary Hillclimb Racing Cars competing and their best times were –

Cameron Hurman’s (Mazda RX7 – 13B Turbo) 50.26 – (3rd in Class & 35th Outright)

Warwick Hutchinson’s (RPV02 13B Turbo) 40.91 – (1st in Class & 1st Outright)

Top Six Shootout Results were

1st Warwick Hutchinson (RPV02 13B Turbo) – 40.96,  2nd David Homer (Suzuki Swift) – 43.34,  3rd Michael Ciccotelli (Gladiator LC500)– 43.34, 4th Paul Van Wijk (BKZ07) – 44.59,  5th David Malone (Holden Torana) – 45.21  &  6th Brian Kirkby (BNG #1) – 46.89

The next hillclimb event is the Queensland Hillclimb Championships at Mt Cotton 4th, 5th & 6th June 2011.
